Job Description

Key Responsibilities: Radiological Safety: Monitor and evaluate radiation levels in the plant, particularly around the Ebeam cable manufacturing system. Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, including OSHA, EPA, and NRC, related to radiation safety and environmental impact. Develop, implement, and enforce radiation safety programs, including protocols for radiation monitoring, equipment safety, and emergency response. Conduct routine radiation surveys and record data to ensure safe operation. Provide regular reports on radiation safety status and compliance to plant management. Conduct employee training on radiation safety protocols, emergency procedures, and proper handling of radiation sources. Maintain records of radiation safety inspections, training, and radiation exposure levels. Ensure radiation shielding and safety equipment are in place and maintained. Ebeam System Operation: Operate and monitor the Electron Beam (Ebeam) system used for cable manufacturing processes. Perform regular inspections and routine maintenance on the Ebeam equipment to ensure its safe and efficient operation. Adjust machine settings to optimize the quality of the cable product while maintaining safety and compliance with industry standards. Troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues with the Ebeam system, collaborating with technical teams as needed. Ensure that cables are exposed to the appropriate radiation levels for desired curing and material properties. Monitor the Ebeam process, ensuring that the product meets quality standards and specifications. Health and Safety: Conduct safety audits and inspections of the plant to ensure that all safety protocols and equipment are in place and operational. Respond immediately to any radiological emergencies or unsafe situations, coordinating with emergency services and plant personnel as needed. Review and assess the safety of plant processes and propose improvements as necessary. Work closely with other safety officers, plant engineers, and management to ensure overall plant safety. Documentation and Compliance: Maintain accurate records of radiation exposure levels, inspection results, maintenance activities, and any corrective actions taken. Assist in preparing and submitting required documentation to regulatory bodies for inspections, certifications, and compliance audits. Stay up to date with changes in regulatory requirements and industry standards for radiological safety and Ebeam operation. Education: Diploma / Graduate Certification as a Radiological Safety Officer (RSO) is Mandatory.
