Job Description

JOB OBJECTIVE: To work in the regional logistics function to ensure high level of customer service at most optimized cost JOB DESCRIPTION: Manage transportation & CFA from warehouses to channel partners & other warehouses at optimized cost & as per required SLA Responsible for Inventory Management & Control in the Warehouses through SAP / WMS Responsible for ensuring high levels of customer service, timely order processing & deliveries (viz OTIF, ICT, etc.) through transporters & CFAs Responsible for GIT (Goods in Transit) closure by timely In-warding and GRN and clear any Discrepancies every Month Ensure appropriate financial, operational, quality controls & statutory/regulatory compliance to ensure operations in-line with corporate requirement Focus on operational planning that optimizes manpower deployment & freight (route planning, load optimization, etc.,) Responsible for managing performance of all service providers through contracts, Service Level Agreements, monitoring & operational reviews for the region monthly CFA scorecards, Transporter performance, etc. Responsible for developing suppliers/service providers to provide logistics solutions to support efficient & effective distribution Work with Central SCM function to drive strategic initiatives Regular meeting with Sales team, customers & service team for resolving concerns Implement best in-class practices for warehousing, transportation & distribution Aware of the industry trends in terms of warehousing/transport norms & practices, KPI benchmarking Ensure seamless transition to new warehouse from existing one or CFA changeover Liaison with transport/Freight operators to keep track of Market Rates on regular basis, identify transporters & renegotiate for freight cost savings Monitoring Insurance claims for transit insurance and regular interaction with legal department for settlement. Making suitable combination of mode of transportation of finished batteries to be dispatched from plants to reduce the impact of overall freight payment. Monitoring freight liability and insist on regular passing of transport bills with POD’s for better freight accounting. Maintaining of Central logistics MIS CRITICAL CAPABILITY FOR THE PERSON: Knowledge of methods in logistics & transportation Good communication and interpersonal skill Good Liaising Skills Active on Operations via e-Mails & Phone calls Sound Knowledge in MS Excel Open for Traveling (for Warehouses monitoring and Dealer visits)
