Job Description Job Summary: The Safety Officer is responsible for ensuring workplace safety and compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations within the fabrication industry. The role involves monitoring work conditions, conducting safety training, and enforcing safety policies to prevent workplace accidents and hazards Requirements Key Responsibilities: 1. Safety Compliance & Regulations: Ensure compliance with local safety regulations and industry standards. Conduct site inspections to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions. Maintain and update safety policies and procedures as per industry standards. 2. Risk Assessment & Hazard Prevention: Perform risk assessments and suggest preventive measures. Identify and report unsafe practices and conditions. Educational Requirements: Diploma/Bachelors Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Industrial Safety, Environmental Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Recommend and implement improvements to minimize risks. 3. Training & Awareness: Conduct safety training and toolbox talks for workers. Promote awareness of workplace hazards and safe work practices. Ensure employees wear proper personal protective equipment (PPE). 4. Incident Reporting & Investigation: Investigate workplace accidents and near misses. Maintain records of incidents and recommend corrective actions. Prepare and submit safety reports to management. 5. Emergency Preparedness: Ensure fire safety and emergency response plans are in place. Conduct fire drills and first-aid training sessions. Monitor and maintain safety equipment, including fire extinguishers and first-aid kits. Skills & Competencies: Basic understanding of workplace safety regulations. Knowledge of hazard identification and risk assessment techniques. Strong communication and observational skills. Ability to conduct safety audits and inspections. Proficiency in MS Office for documentation and reporting. Work Environment: Factory/production floor exposure with noise, heat, and machinery. Regular interaction with workers, supervisors, and management. Must be willing to work in shifts, if required. Educational Requirements: Diploma/Bachelors Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Industrial Safety, Environmental Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
