Job Description

This role involves proactive monitoring, emergency response, and adherence to safety protocols, considering the specific challenges of a densely populated urban setting. Responsibilities: Conduct regular patrols of the building, including common areas, parking facilities, and external grounds, with heightened awareness of potential hazards prevalent in Chennai's climate (e.g., monsoon-related waterlogging, electrical safety during high humidity). Inspect fire safety equipment, including fire extinguishers, smoke detectors, and sprinkler systems, ensuring they are functional and compliant with local fire safety regulations. Monitor CCTV systems and access control points to prevent unauthorized entry and address security concerns specific to the area. Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, including those mandated by local municipal authorities. Perform regular safety audits and maintain detailed records. Respond promptly to emergencies, including fire alarms, medical incidents, and security breaches, considering the potential for traffic congestion and delayed emergency services in Chennai. Assist in evacuations, ensuring the safe movement of residents, with particular attention to elderly and disabled individuals. Provide first aid and CPR as needed (certification required). Coordinate with local emergency services (e.g., fire department, police, ambulance). Maintain accurate incident and emergency records. Educate residents and staff on safety procedures, including those related to monsoon preparedness and electrical safety. Conduct regular safety drills and training sessions, adapting them to the local context. Address resident concerns regarding safety and security, providing information in a clear and culturally sensitive manner. Promote a culture of safety consciousness. Monitor and control access to the building, verifying visitor credentials and issuing passes. Enforce parking regulations, considering the challenges of limited parking space. Respond to security alarms and investigate suspicious activity. Maintain accurate records of inspections, incidents, and maintenance activities. Prepare detailed reports on safety and security issues. Maintain records of all safety related training. Submit daily activity reports. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Proven experience in a safety or security role, preferably in a residential setting. Certification in first aid and CPR. Knowledge of fire safety regulations and procedures, including local Chennai regulations. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse residents. Ability to remain calm and composed in emergency situations. Excellent observation and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in using CCTV systems and access control equipment. Basic computer skills. Ability to communicate in local languages is a plus. Physically capable of performing patrols and responding to emergencies. Experience in high-rise building safety in Chennai. Knowledge of local safety regulations and emergency response protocols.
