Job Summary: The Sales Head will be responsible for spearheading the government sales division, driving revenue growth through strategic engagement with public sector clients, and leading a team of sales professionals. This role demands a combination of strategic planning, team leadership, and hands-on sales expertise to capture and grow government accounts in the IT domain. Key Responsibilities: Develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies targeting government verticals (Central, State, PSU, and Municipal Bodies). Set sales objectives and ensure they align with the companys business goals. Identify new business opportunities within the government sector, including emerging IT requirements and digital transformation initiatives. Lead, mentor, and manage a team of government sales professionals. Set clear performance metrics, provide regular feedback, and support professional growth. Foster a collaborative and high-performing team culture to drive sales excellence. Establish and maintain strategic relationships with key government stakeholders and decision-makers. Build long-term partnerships by demonstrating a deep understanding of public sector needs and challenges. Represent the company at government meetings, public sector events, and industry conferences. Identify and pursue opportunities to sell IT services, including software solutions, system integration, cloud computing, and digital transformation. Lead the preparation and submission of RFPs, RFIs, and tenders. Develop customized proposals and presentations tailored to government clients. Achieve and exceed quarterly and annual sales targets. Oversee contract negotiations, pricing strategies, and compliance with government regulations. Ensure adherence to public procurement policies and guidelines (e.g., GEM, e-Procurement portals). Monitor project delivery to maintain client satisfaction and compliance. Monitor and report on sales performance, pipeline status, and revenue forecasts. Use CRM tools to track customer interactions, opportunities, and sales progress. Analyze market trends, competitive landscape, and client feedback to adjust sales strategies. Key Skills and Competencies: Government Sales Expertise: Deep understanding of public sector procurement, bidding processes, and compliance requirements. IT Knowledge: Proficiency in IT services, software solutions, cloud computing, and digital initiatives. Tender Management: Expertize in Tender preparation, documentation, submission. Leadership: Proven ability to build, motivate, and lead high-performing sales teams. Strategic Thinking: Ability to align sales strategies with business objectives. Relationship Building: Excellent networking skills with government officials and decision-makers. Sales Acumen: Strong negotiation, presentation, and closing skills. Analytical Skills: Ability to interpret data and trends to make data-driven decisions. Communication: Clear and impactful verbal and written communication skills. CRM Proficiency: Familiarity with tools like Salesforce, HubSpot, or equivalent. Problem Solving: Aptitude for resolving complex client issues effectively. Qualifications: Education: Bachelors degree in Business Administration, IT, or related field (MBA preferred). Experience: Minimum of 8-12 years in IT services sales, with at least 7 years in government verticals. Proven track record of achieving sales targets and managing a sales team.
