Job Title: Senior Accountant Manufacturing & Import/Export Location: Coimbatore Reports To: Finance Manager Job Overview: We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our finance team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role will require expertise in cost accounting, inventory management, financial reporting, and handling the complexities of import/export transactions, GST and TDS. The Senior Accountant will ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and provide insightful financial analysis to support operational decisions and optimize cost efficiency in manufacturing and international trade. Key Responsibilities: Financial Reporting & Analysis: Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and adherence to accounting principles. Provide detailed cost analysis reports to assist in pricing strategies, product profitability, and operational efficiency. Assist in the preparation of monthly and year-end closing procedures, including account reconciliations and adjustments. Conduct in-depth analysis of financial results, including variances from budget and prior periods, to identify trends and areas of improvement. Manufacturing Process Control: Provide financial insight into the performance of production lines and assist in cost optimization efforts. Analyze and report on manufacturing overhead costs, including labour, material and operational costs. Budgeting & Forecasting: Develop and manage annual budgets for the manufacturing operations, including production, materials, labour and overhead costs. Import/Export & Customs Compliance: Oversee financial transactions related to import and export activities, including customs duties, freight and other related expenses. Ensure compliance with import/export regulations, including proper documentation for customs clearance and duty payments. Manage foreign currency transactions and hedging, where applicable, for international suppliers and customers. Work with the operations team to ensure accurate financial reporting of imported materials and finished goods. GST (Goods and Services Tax): Manage GST compliance for all import, export and local transactions, including ensuring proper tax documentation and filing. Prepare and file GST returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, etc.) in a timely and accurate manner. Ensure that GST credits are properly accounted for in the books and reconciled with supplier and customer records. Maintain accurate records of GST invoices and support the reconciliation of tax liabilities. TDS (Tax Deducted at Source): Ensure timely and accurate deduction of TDS on payments to vendors, contractors, and employees, in compliance with Indian tax laws. Prepare and file TDS returns (e.g., Form 24Q, Form 26Q, etc.) and ensure timely payments to the tax authorities. Provide TDS certificates to vendors and employees and maintain proper records of TDS deductions. Collaborate with tax consultants to ensure compliance with all TDS regulations and resolve any discrepancies with the authorities. Audit & Compliance: Coordinate with external auditors during annual audits and assist with the preparation of audit schedules and financial statements. Ensure adherence to all regulatory compliance standards in relation to manufacturing, import/export, GST, and TDS. Review manufacturing processes to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures and ensure financial data accuracy. ERP/Accounting System Management: Ensure accurate data entry and reporting within the ERP system and oversee the integration of accounting systems with manufacturing software Monitor and support the accurate recording of manufacturing costs and data inputs for financial statements. Team Management & Development: Supervise, mentor and provide guidance to junior accounting staff in the manufacturing accounting team. Assist in training new employees on accounting processes, ERP systems, and cost analysis techniques specific to manufacturing. Qualifications: Bachelors degree in accounting, Finance or related field Minimum of 7 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on manufacturing, import/export, and GST/TDS. Experience with ERP systems (Tally) and manufacturing software. Strong understanding of GST and TDS compliance and reporting. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, financial modelling). Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and efficiency. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Preferred Skills: Experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment with import/export operations. Knowledge of customs duty regulations and compliance for international trade. Knowledge of tax regulations and compliance related to manufacturing and international transactions. Compensation: Competitive salary based on experience.
