SENIOR CIVIL ENGINEER - BUILDING WORKS Job Description We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Engineer with 8+ years of expertise in managing high rise building construction site operations. The ideal candidate will be confident, independent, and capable of making critical decisions while ensuring seamless execution of site activities. Proficiency in project management tools, quantity and rate analysis, and strong communication skills are essential for this role. Key Responsibilities 1. Site Supervision & Management - Oversee day-to-day construction site operations, ensuring adherence to project schedules and quality standards. - Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and labor teams to ensure smooth progress. - Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements. 2. Technical Oversight - Review and interpret construction drawings, designs, and specifications. - Utilize AutoCAD for design modifications and technical clarifications. - Provide technical guidance to site teams and resolve on-site challenges effectively. 3. Quantity & Rate Analysis - Conduct detailed quantity take-offs and ensure accurate material estimation. - Perform rate analysis to ensure cost-effective construction practices. - Prepare and verify quantity schedules and BOQs (Bill of Quantities). 4. Subcontractor Billing & Coordination - Prepare, verify, and process subcontractor bills as per executed work. - Track contractor performance and ensure adherence to contractual obligations. - Maintain proper documentation of work progress and billing records. 5. Project Planning & Monitoring - Develop and monitor site-level project schedules using MS Projects or Primavera P6. - Ensure timely execution of project deliverables, identifying and mitigating potential delays. - Provide regular progress reports to the project manager and stakeholders. 6. Material & Resource Management - Plan and manage material procurement to avoid site delays. - Monitor and optimize resource allocation for maximum efficiency. - Maintain inventory records and ensure timely replenishment of site materials. 7. Communication & Coordination - Collaborate with project managers, consultants, and design teams to ensure alignment of goals. - Communicate project updates, challenges, and requirements clearly to all stakeholders. - Handle client interactions professionally, ensuring satisfaction and timely feedback. 8. Decision-Making & Leadership - Take ownership of site activities, making informed decisions to resolve issues. - Lead and motivate site teams to achieve project milestones efficiently. - Proactively identify and implement improvements in construction processes. Required Skills & Qualifications - Experience: Minimum 8 years of hands-on experience in site engineering, with a proven record of managing large-scale construction projects. - Education: Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or related field - Technical Expertise: - Proficiency in AutoCAD for design review and updates. - Advanced knowledge of MS Projects or Primavera P6 for project planning and tracking. - Strong command of MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for reporting and documentation. - Site Knowledge: - In-depth understanding of construction processes, materials, and standards. - Expertise in quantity and rate analysis, subcontractor billing, and quality assurance. - Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written English communication skills. - Attributes: - Confident, independent, and capable of making sound decisions under pressure. - Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities. - A tech-savvy professional who can leverage digital tools to enhance efficiency.
