Role & responsibilities Strategic Development : Work closely with regulatory bodies to understand their vision for the mining sector, developing comprehensive strategies to promote investment and drive significant production growth. Technical Expertise : Provide expert advice on mining geology to support the development of regulatory frameworks and mining policies. Research and Analysis : Conduct thorough research and analysis on regional mining industry trends, opportunities, and challenges. Investment Attraction : Develop and implement programs to attract investment into the mining sector and foster the development of new mining projects. Stakeholder Collaboration : Collaborate with mining companies, investors, and local communities to promote sustainable mining practices and build strong relationships. Performance Metrics : Establish and implement performance metrics to track progress, providing regu lar updates to regulatory bodies. Thought Leadership : Contribute to the development of methodologies, tools, and intellectual property related to mining geology and industry innovations. Professional Skills and Responsibilities: Use feedback and reflection to develop self-awareness, personal strengths, and address development areas. Demonstrate critical thinking and the ability to organize unstructured problems. Utilize a broad range of tools and techniques to extract insights from industry or sector trends. Review your work and that of others for quality, accuracy, and relevance. Know how and when to use available tools and explain the reasoning behind these choices. What We're looking for Education : Bachelor's degree in geology, mining engineering, or a related field; masters preferred. Experience : Minimum of 6-10 years of relevant experience in the mining industry, preferably in consulting. Technical Expertise : In-depth knowledge of mining geology, including exploration, resource evaluation, and mine development. Familiarity with JORC code regulatory requirements is essential. Analytical Skills : Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to make informed decisions to optimize mining operations. Communication Skills : Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills Teamwork and Project Management : Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously Travel : Willingness to travel, as needed, for extensive durations.
