Job Description: The Senior Database Architect is responsible for designing, developing, and administering high-performance, scalable, and secure enterprise database solutions across on-premise and AWS environments. This role demands deep expertise in Oracle, PostgreSQL, and NoSQL databases, high availability and disaster recovery (HA/DR) configurations, scripting, and performance tuning. The architect will work closely with engineering, architecture, and data platform teams to ensure adherence to standards, regulatory compliance, and optimized database operations, particularly within financial services environments. Roles & Responsibilities: Design and implement scalable and reliable database architectures using Oracle, PostgreSQL, and NoSQL. Lead data modeling, schema design, and performance optimization initiatives. Develop HA/DR solutions to maximize database availability and resilience Optimize query and system performance across complex workloads. Define and enforce database standards, governance, and best practices. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align database systems with application and business needs. Automate database deployment and management using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform). Streamline database operations with shell scripting, Python, and DevOps tools. Manage backup, recovery, capacity planning, and database security. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements in financial systems. Mentor teams and lead technical discussions related to enterprise database solutions. Provide documentation, insights, and recommendations for system improvements and scalability. Skills Required: Expertise in Oracle and PostgreSQL databases. Experience with NoSQL platforms like Couchbase or Cassandra. Strong skills in database scripting, shell scripting, and automation. Advanced knowledge of HA/DR configurations and performance tuning. Proficiency with IaC tools like Terraform and CI/CD pipelines. Deep understanding of database security, compliance, and governance. Hands-on experience with AWS cloud database services. Strong collaboration, leadership, and communication skills.
