About S&T Operations, Common Services & Infrastructure The Common Services & Infrastructure team is responsible for BME Lab Security and Lab IT Operations in the Business managed environment at major Bell Labs locations worldwide. The team is accountable for leading and managing the Research Labs Infrastructure, providing global Lab Security, protecting intellectual property and to ensure business continuity. Furthermore, the team is supporting in the operation of CI/CD pipelines and underlying toolchains for Cloud infrastructure deployment and tooling. For this task we are looking for a DevOps Engineer to work closely with Bell Labs Solution Research teams. You will be working with a global team of researchers, which need cloud environments for sophisticated high-end research. Work experience Bachelors degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field. Proven 3-8 years experience as a DevOps Engineer or similar role. Strong expertise in Terraform for infrastructure provisioning and management. Proficiency with Helm Charts for cloud application deployment and configuration management. Hands-on experience with GitLab for version control and CI/CD pipelines. Familiarity with continuous integration and delivery. Knowledge of SonarQube for code quality analysis and continuous inspection. Working knowledge of Argo CD / Flux CD for continuous deployment and GitOps. Strong scripting skills (Bash, Python, etc.) for automation and tooling. Solid understanding of cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes). Flexible & adaptability to fast and constant changing business needs Constant willingness to expand own knowledge Making it work mentality English language skills Main Responsibility Areas Implementing and managing infrastructure as code using Terraform, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security. Managing and configuring GitLab repositories, including version control Implementing and maintaining pipelines for continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD), ensuring efficient and reliable software releases. Develops and implements end to end processes and supports tool harmonization, by implementing GitOps and Cloud native deployments with CI/CD tools and pipelines. Setting up and configuring SonarQube for code quality analysis and continuous inspection of software projects. Implementing and managing Argo CD / Flux CD for continuous deployment and GitOps workflows. Containerized application deployment on cloud-native platforms like Kubernetes. Collaborating with software development teams to integrate DevOps practices and streamline development processes. Identifying and implementing improvements to optimize system performance, security, and reliability. Monitoring and troubleshooting system issues, responding promptly to minimize downtime and ensure high availability. Root cause analysis in more complex problems and environment, which is distributed in different cloud environments like OnPrem private Cloud infrastructure,as well as Public Cloud providers.
