GENERAL JOB SUMMARY The Engineer, Development is responsible for development tasks like coding and debugging of complex scope using standard concepts and principles. Billable development work. Works as a fully contributing team member, under broad guidance. S/he should be able to apply own judgment and independently determine a course of action to execute it, post review. S/he is responsible for coaching, guiding and mentoring junior members in the team to help them scale up faster. 3. SCOPE Knowledge: Having wide-ranging experience, uses professional concepts and company objectives to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways. Complexity: Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Networks with key contacts outside own area of expertise. Supervision: Determines methods and procedures on new assignments. 4. ORGANIZATION (Indicate the job positions reporting to this role) Full line: None Dotted line: None 5. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES With ERP Expertise, creates regression impact analysis for customer reported bugs. Creates high level and low-level design for a given set of functional requirements as a marketable feature or a set of Use Cases. Develop software for database functionality, GUI based application or web based supporting tools. Mentors other junior members in the team in terms of technical skills, methodology and product knowledge. Has good command in technology of the primary product. Follows best coding practices, and software control system. Assists colleagues with design reviews, code reviews, implementation and information about existing implementations. Expert in one or more modules of the product. Has good understanding of core modules of secondary product. Assertive in communication with customers and regional teams. 6. JOB SPECIFICATIONS Education (Indicate the minimum level of education necessary for this position. (law) Certification: Registration: Licensure: Other: Work Experience Typically requires a minimum of 2+ years of related experience with a bachelor s degree in Engineering or Mater degree with equivalent experience. Typical range is 1-3 years. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Strong working experience in Programming using Progress4GL, Progress Database management, OpenEdge, Programming using advanced progress features like Application Server/PASOE, Pro-2 etc.. Possess good programming ability in Progress 4GL (GUI/CHUI) /.Net Programming in Progress4GL, Good to have - Advanced knowledge of ERP, and Operating systems Unix/Linux. Has good experience and knowledge of working on n-tier desktop or client-side web application using one or more Web and UI frameworks. Working knowledge of non-functional requirements like Scalability, Performance, and Security, etc. is an advantage. Ability to handle customer, requirement management and release management.
