Learn more at gradiant.com. Responsibilities Be responsible for the design and technical support of all hardware, software, instrumentation and controls elements as part of an integrated system. Support P&IDs preparation based on customer requirements Identify, create and support project documentation including, but not limited to HMI, PLC programming, power distribution, control/signal wiring, wireless technology, cabinet/panel design, BOM and layout drawings. Develop instrumentation specifications as related to process requirements and control schemes. Support engineering, project management and deployment groups to identify and resolve technical issues. Provide technical direction as required. Work with outside vendors and purchasing to select and establish equipment component specifications, material take-offs, requisitions and vendor orders while coordinating cost control, project schedule and manufacturing efforts. Have the ability to work independently and in an interdisciplinary team environment to perform all duties in a professional and timely manner. Must be able to work through problems from a technical and practical prospective, while maintaining cost controls. Prepare, check, and issue instrument schedule and list, including document index, instrument index, I/O list, cable schedule, interconnection wiring drawings, termination drawings, junction box schedule, instrument hookup drawings, and material take off. Check and issue block diagrams, control/rack room layout, cable route, instrument location plan, DCS, SIS, BMS systems loop drawings, instrument hook-up details, and instrument sizing and calculation. Prepare and issue instrument data sheets for control valves, on-off valves, PCVs, MOVs, PSVs, and other field instruments. Guide designers to prepare drawings. Ensure that engineering is completed accurately within schedule and budget Carry out value engineering assessments of all projects under the incumbent's control. Confirm compliance with customer specifications and process requirements. Prepare / develop / supervise in preparing Instrument Index, Instrument datasheets, IO List, alarm List, Cause and Effect Matrix Prepare / develop / supervise automation engineering documentation such as functional description specifications, control system architecture etc for Control Panel design. Attend FAT of control panels, programming, PLC at supplier's place to ensure assigned project requirement. Support during commissioning for the assigned projects. Equipment Specification and Procurement / RFQ: Prepare technical specifications for field instruments like Gauges, Transmitters, Flow meters, Analyzers and work with vendors to procure the required components. Evaluate equipment proposals and make recommendations based on technical and budgetary considerations. Confirm compliance with customer specifications for equipment and material types; Review and approve drawings and documents from Vendors. Interface with Process, Civil / Structural, Piping, Instrumentation Engineers for complete engineering work. Collaborate with Technical project manager to plan and execute projects on time and on budgeted manhours. Participate in project meetings, design reviews, and progress assessments to ensure project objectives are met. Quality Control and Compliance: Ensure that all Electrical designs and installations comply with applicable codes, standards, and industry best practices. Conduct quality control reviews to verify design integrity and safety. Cost Estimation and Budget Management: Collaborate with the project team to prepare cost estimates for mechanical components and equipment. Identify cost-saving opportunities where applicable. Requirements: Sr. Instrumentation Design Engineer with B.E / B.Tech (Instrumentation & Control, Electronics & Instrumentation Engg) 6 - 10 Yrs of Experience in field of Instrumentation Engineering Design in Water, Power plant, Chemical and Oil & Gas Industry.
