Job Description

Title: Senior Linux Administrator Experience: 8+ Years and above Position Type : Full-time Location : Preferred Mumbai & Pune Location Only. Timing: Willing to work in US Time zone and extended shift hours. Responsibilities: A highly distinguished IT professional with over 8+ years of IT Infrastructure experience as a System Administrator and Production Support of various applications on Oracle Solaris, RedHat Enterprise Linux, Centos, VMWare ESXi, and Windows environments. Experienced in Installations, Upgrades, Patches, Configuration, and performance tuning on Linux, Solaris, UNIX, and system software & hardware. Deploy and manage containerized applications using Docker. Automate infrastructure provisioning with Terraform. Configure and streamline system administration using Ansible. Ensure stability, security, and performance of Linux-based environments. Monitor and optimize CI/CD pipelines and deployment strategies. Implement and optimize AWS CodeBuild pipelines for automated deployments. Hands-on experience on HP ILO, iDRAC Firmware/Solaris ILOM, and Service processors firmware updates. Experience in Package management using RPM, YUM, SATELITE, and UP2DATE in Red Hat Linux. Managing, troubleshooting, and resolving Incidents/Issues as per the Service Level Agreement (SLA, RCA) with frequent updates. Managed DEV/UAT/ PROD environmental with Twiki Documents on Linux-based web servers. Hands-on experience on Web-Sphere MQ administration 7/8/9, Apache HTTP/HTTPS Server 2.4.x with virtual hosting. Configuration, Application components deployment, performance tuning including troubleshooting and maintenance. Excellent working knowledge of Operation & Production Support with large mission-critical systems in multiple technologies and platforms including Apache Tomcat (with SSL) and UNIX. Coordinated with IBM to resolve issues related to Web-sphere MQ products. Implemented and architected Open source tools e.g. Monit, web content, and URL filtering mechanism. Experience in Creating and maintaining user accounts, profiles, security, rights, Quotas, and process monitoring. Efficiency in installing, configuring, and implementing the LVMs and RAID Technologies using various tools like Veritas volume manager, and Solaris volume manager. Experience in installation, configuration, and administration of Apache/Tomcat. Experience in Installing, configuring, and maintaining, KICKSTART, SFTP, DNS, DHCP, and Samba. Experience in Install and configuration of Web hosting administration HTTP, FTP, SSH, & RSH. Creating, and cloning Linux Virtual Machines, templates using VMware ESXi & Virtualization environments. Experience in Installation of VMware ESX server and creation of VMs and installing the different guest OS. Experience in Installation and configuration of Zones and Containers in Solaris 10 environment. Experience in Dev-Ops Support (Nagios and Zabbix) Monitoring. Experienced in version controlling SVN/CVS/GIT/Jenkins/GoCD. Apply patches on all Linux/Windows boxes from a common repository using RPM & source code. Resolving system errors and crashes, huge file sizes, file system full errors. Implementation of reverse proxy on Linux for load balancing of internet/intranet traffic. Experience in ITIL process implementation, service Operations, Transition, and Continual Service Improvement. Installing Linux and configuring ESX servers, Creating duplicate VMs using cloning technology. Administrated DHCP, DNS, NFS, NIS, and Samba services in Linux, Database server with Web interface PHPMyAdmin/Squid/Memcache, CPanel, etc Linux performance tuning such as patching and building optimized kernel. Creating and managing VMware clusters. Enabling HA and DRS features in a cluster Installing clients and servers, software for upgrading and maintaining network and Security, system Integration open-source software under Linux. Installing and Configuring Linux systems and servers related to Apache, Fastcgi, MemCache PHP, PHPmyadmin, MySQL, JBoss. Nginx, Python, etc to ensure availability of services to authorized users. Experience with cache servers deployment and configuration like Redis. Installing and configuring MongoDB, SQL Server, MySQL, Sybase ASE with Cluster configuration. Installing and configuring transcoder servers like FFmpeg. Experience with configuring Nginx clusters. Monitor, deploy & configure Linux on IBM, and HP servers, Create and manage virtual machines, and install VM Tools into VMs. Managed Disk and File systems using LVM on Linux and Configuration Web Control Panel. Experience in DR test scenarios and Business Continuity Planning in case of eventualities. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills. Experience in bash, Korne, Shell scripting Experience in Docker container deployment. Software installation using RPM, Yum & TarBall. Networking Monitoring Systems: MRTG, Cacti, Nagios, LibreNMS, Observium, Ossec, etc Knowledge of configuring Exchange, Zimbra, Qmail, etc Creating and managing resource pools and adding the VMs into resource pools, LAMP(Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP) setup, configuration & maintenance. Quick learner and delivers solutions as an individual and as part of a team. Required Skills: Strong VMware, Windows, Linux, and Networking background. Worked on Production, DEV, and TEST environments. Worked on Datacenter Implementation. Worked on several Infrastructure and application migrations. Worked on Cloud Migration services. Supported International clients. Ability to work independently and handle crisis management. Managed 100+ servers with multiple technologies like Linux, Solaris, VMware, etc Ability to perform multiple, technical, highly complex tasks with the need to regularly upgrade skills to meet dynamic job conditions Strong knowledge of centralized and automated systems and application deployment via scripting. Industry-standard certifications such as Security+, CISSP, GSEC, ITIL, Microsoft, and Cisco certifications added value. Designing and implementing on-site, off-site, and international server infrastructure. Assessing and administering all equipment, hardware, and enterprise software upgrades. Practice in network asset management, including maintenance of network component inventory, life cycle management, and documentation. Collaborate with development teams to enhance system reliability. Strong expertise in Docker, Terraform, Ansible, and Linux administration. Experience in cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure, or GCP) is preferred.
