Senior Naval Architecture Engineer

Job Description

In the role of Naval Architecture Engineer, you are responsible for both contributing to the expertise and knowledge within the Naval Architectural discipline as well as taking the role on projects. You will contribute to ensure that knowledge and expertise is maintained and expanded to deliver high-quality and cost-effective designs of SBM products. You will particularly focus on SBM s FPSOs products. It is expected that you are ready to take a project role as a Naval Architecture Engineer. As a Naval Architrecture Engineer, you are responsible for project management functions in supporting / leading the discipline which may consist of up to 1 Naval Architecture Engineer and additionally few designer/drafters. Job requirements SBM Offshore Bangalore is looking for candidates who have an M. Tech or B. Tech degree or equivalent (i.e. Professional Certification) in Naval Architecture. You have at least 10 years relevant working experience and preferably worked with SBM Offshore before. Furthermore, you have: In-depth experience and sound technical knowledge of Naval Architecture in both conceptual and detailed design. Preferably experience in Engineering Design and/or Operation of floating production units (FSOs, FPSOs, Oil Gas and Chemical tankers, Drilling Units, Semis, TLP) for the Oil Gas Industry Good interface knowledge with related disciplines i.e. Marine systems, EI, Piping, HVAC, Process Technical Safety. Familiar with rules of classification societies (i.e.: ABS, DNV GL, BV and Lloyds), international organizations and proper implementation of Health, Safety, Security and Environmental (HSSE) policies. Job requirements: Academic : M. Tech / B. Tech in Naval Architecture Exp: Minimum 10 years Working experience in Offshore Designs / Shipyard. SW or tools: Knowledge of Software s used in Naval Architecture (NAPA, GHS, AVEVA MARINE, MAXSURF) Preferably knowledge on Structural Software s (SESAM GENIE, ANSYS) Behaviours inter-personal skills - Key points: Soft skills Team spirit and good communication skills Ability to monitor and follow up subcontractors / suppliers / partners Autonomous and able to think out of the box Strong analytical skills Curious and motivated to propose and/or explore new ideas
