Job Title: Sr Quality Manager Department: Thermoset/Thermoplastic Quality Reporting Manager: COO Direct Reportees: Engineer/ Inspector Location: Arce Polymers Job Summary: The Sr Quality Manager is responsible for ensuring that all products meet the established standards of quality, including reliability, usability, and performance. This role involves overseeing the entire quality control process from the inspection of incoming materials to the final inspection of products before shipment. The Sr Quality Manager handles customer complaints, prepares quality plans, ensures compliance with legal standards, and collaborates with various departments to maintain high-quality standards. Key Responsibilities: Inspection and Certification: Ensure all inward materials are inspected and raw material test certificates are received. Oversee in-process inspection, trial inspection, and final inspection to ensure product quality. Customer Complaints and Corrective Actions: Handle customer complaints efficiently and effectively. Implement corrective actions on process reworks and customer complaints to prevent recurrence. Quality Planning and Control: Prepare quality plans and control plans to standardize quality assurance processes. Ensure all instruments are calibrated and maintain calibration records. Supplier and Outsourced Process Management: Conduct inspections on outsourced processes to ensure they meet quality standards. Carry out supplier rating based on quality and collaborate with suppliers to resolve quality issues. Collaboration and Coordination: Work closely with production, store, maintenance (tool & machine), and purchase departments to ensure quality standards are met. Handle customer and vendor interactions to maintain and improve quality standards. Data Analysis and Reporting: Perform rejection analysis and implement measures to reduce non-conformance. Maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) such as IDPM, EDPM, COPQ, and customer complaint rates. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant legal and regulatory standards. Coordinate internal and external audits and implement audit findings. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs): Inspection Effectiveness: Percentage of incoming materials inspected. Compliance rate of raw material test certificates. Quality Control: In-process and final inspection pass rates. Reduction in process reworks and customer complaints. Supplier Quality: Supplier rating improvements. Quality of outsourced processes. Customer Satisfaction: Number of customer complaints and response time. Improvement in customer complaint resolution. Operational Efficiency: IDPM (Internal Defects Per Million) EDPM (External Defects Per Million) COPQ (Cost of Poor Quality) Competencies: Quality Assurance: Ensuring all products meet the established standards of quality through rigorous inspection and testing. Customer and Vendor Management: Handling customer complaints effectively and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers. Data Analysis: Analyzing rejection rates, performing root cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions. Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory standards. Collaboration: Working effectively with production, store, maintenance, and purchase departments to maintain quality standards. Continuous Improvement: Identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes to enhance product quality and operational efficiency. Preferred candidate profile Qualifications and Skills: Education: B. Tech or Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering. Experience: 12 to 18 years in quality assurance, preferably in injection molding and compression molding. Technical Skills: Knowledge in sampling plans, inspection, raw materials, and measuring instruments. Proficiency in quality management tools and methodologies, such as 8D. Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills for handling customer and vendor relations. Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze data and generate reports. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Management Skills: Ability to lead and manage a team.
