Job Title: ServiceNow CMDB Developer Location: Chennai & Bangalore Job Type: Hybrid. Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented ServiceNow CMDB Developer to join our IT team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in developing, configuring, and maintaining the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) within the ServiceNow platform. This position requires a deep understanding of ServiceNow's CMDB, its relationship with other ITIL processes, and the ability to work with cross-functional teams to ensure data quality and consistency within the CMDB. Key Responsibilities: CMDB Development: Design, implement, and enhance CMDB structures, tables, and relationships within the ServiceNow platform to meet business and technical requirements. CMDB Data Management: Support CMDB data maintenance processes, including discovery, reconciliation, and ensuring accurate and up-to-date configuration data across the enterprise. ServiceNow Configuration: Configure and customize ServiceNow features such as CI types, relationships, attributes, and catalog items. Discovery Integration: Work with ServiceNow Discovery and other third-party tools to integrate and populate CMDB data with accurate and automated processes. Data Reconciliation: Perform data reconciliation activities, ensuring proper CI relationships and data consistency between different ServiceNow modules. Incident & Change Management Support: Collaborate with other ITSM modules (e.g., Incident, Problem, Change Management) to ensure CMDB data supports effective root cause analysis and change control. Documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation related to the CMDB, including design specifications, process workflows, and configuration details. Reporting & Dashboards: Build and maintain reports, performance metrics, and dashboards related to the CMDB to track data accuracy, health, and integrity. Collaboration: Work with business and IT stakeholders to define CMDB requirements and deliver solutions that meet these needs. Best Practices & Compliance: Ensure that the CMDB follows best practices, standards, and ServiceNow guidelines, and remains compliant with ITIL practices and security requirements. Required Skills & Qualifications: ServiceNow Expertise: Strong experience working with ServiceNow, particularly with the CMDB, Discovery, and ITIL processes. Technical Skills: Proficiency in JavaScript, ServiceNow Scripting (GlideScript), and ServiceNow development tools. CMDB Management: Hands-on experience with ServiceNow CMDB configurations, including CI types, relationships, and data structures. Discovery Tools: Experience with ServiceNow Discovery or third-party discovery tools, integrating them with the CMDB. Data Integration: Familiarity with data import/export tools, data transformation, and reconciliation processes. ITIL Knowledge: Understanding of ITIL processes (e.g., Configuration Management, Incident Management, Change Management, Problem Management) and how they relate to the CMDB. Analytical Skills: Strong ability to analyze data, identify gaps, and propose solutions for data accuracy and process improvement. Collaboration & Communication: Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Problem-Solving: Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, especially related to data inconsistencies in the CMDB. Preferred Qualifications: ServiceNow Certifications: Certified ServiceNow System Administrator or Certified Application Developer. Experience with Service Mapping: Experience with ServiceNow Service Mapping to enhance the CMDB. Project Management Skills: Ability to manage small to medium-scale projects related to CMDB enhancement and data governance. Scripting & Automation: Experience with ServiceNow Flow Designer, Orchestration, or custom scripting for automation. Education & Experience: Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience. Experience: Minimum of 4+ years of hands-on experience in ServiceNow development, specifically within the CMDB module.
