Company: Bajaj Electricals JOB ROLE Senior Engineer - Simulation LOCATION ABSQ Navi Mumbai BU/ DIVISION Research and Development Department JOB PURPOSE As a Senior Simulation Engineer, you will play a critical role in the development and validation of engineering systems and sub-systems of consumer appliances and lighting products, through advanced digital simulations. You will drive and execute prediction and analysis of system performance, optimization of designs, and identification of potential issues before physical prototyping. By leveraging state-of-the-art simulation tools and methodologies, you will drive the creation of innovative solutions that meet stringent performance, reliability, and safety standards. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, you will ensure the seamless integration of simulation results into the product development lifecycle, driving efficiency and enhancing overall product quality. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Execution of Innovation Technology development and Adv Dev projects: Drive finite element model development of various parts based on the project objectives, Develop advanced structural solutions to quantitatively assess and conclude on structural integrity & life of products that are in design Lead creation of high fidelity simulation models for various Adv development projects. Utilize a structured TRL-based process from TRL1 to TRL5 to assist in maturing the solutions. Interact with external experts to assist in developing advanced simulation models. New Product Development (NPD), VAVE and LCM projects: Drive advance digital simulations tool for NPDs, carrying out trade-offs wrt cost and performance, by following Bajaj Electricals phase-gate milestones process. Collaborate with Engg design team to understand simulation objective, loads and boundary conditions. Timely execution of simulations as per objectives. Interpreting the analysis results and creating reports of analysis cases and discuss with concerned team members for bringing in necessary improvements. Collaborate with Product Designers for test correlations. Drive establishing correlations with actual test, developing empirical tools Predictive Engineering and Validation: Capture FTR details and improve simulation tools wherever required Drive use of predictive engineering and digital simulation tools to forecast performance and lifespan, ensuring first-time-right (FTR) outcomes. Define and validate unique selling propositions (USPs) and claims using DFMEA, FEA, functional analysis, prototyping, and testing tools, collaborating with PRC and DQC teams for verification. Continuous Improvement: Drive creation of new processes and capabilities essential for achieving first-time-right (FTR) outcomes, on-time delivery (OTD), and turnaround time (TAT) reduction, ensuring compliance with regulations and facilitating the creation and validation of innovative prototypes. EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS Structural Simulations: MTech in Design / Mechanical / Automobile / Aerospace Engineering EXPERIENCE 8-10 years of experience in Structural Simulations with preferebly Ansys Mechanical CERTIFICATIONS PREFERRED/ ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENT Knowledge of CAD software, preferably Pro-E, for geometry cleanup and design modifications. INTERNAL / EXTERNAL INTERFACE Internal - Engineering Design team, PRC, DQC, Product Development team, Tooling Teams, Advanced Development teams, Commercials. External - Marketing, SCM, Plants, End consumer FUNCTIONAL COMPETENCIES Expertise with Workbench,Ansys Mechanical, ANSYS SpaceClaim and Python. Proficiency in structural simulations using Ansys. Expertise in meshing, bolt connections, and contact modeling. Expertise in static linear and nonlinear strength simulations, Vibration Simulations, Explcit dynamics, material modeling, coupled simulations. Ability to set up simulations, resolve convergence issues, interpret results, and provide design recommendations.
