Job Description

As a Frontend Developer , you will play a pivotal role in delivering industry-leading web applications within a dynamic E-Commerce environment . You will be working collaboratively within an established, cross-functional team to build responsive, high-performance, and scalable user interfaces that deliver an excellent customer journey across all platforms. Utilizing modern JavaScript frameworks such as React , AngularJS , and Node.js , and collaborating closely with Java backend developers , you will ensure seamless integration and consistent end-to-end functionality. You will work with stakeholders across the business to ensure that all changes and system improvements meet quality, performance, and business requirements. The successful candidate will be part of a motivated and agile team , contributing to all phases of the development process in alignment with the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and company best practices and standards. Roles and Responsibilities Demonstrate a strong passion for modern frontend technologies and continuously seek to improve both personal and team performance through knowledge sharing and innovation. Design and develop the frontend of web-based applications using the latest techniques and technologies including React , AngularJS , Node.js , HTML5, and CSS3. Build full customer-facing experiences such as responsive websites , landing pages , and dynamic user journeys , with an emphasis on usability and performance. Collaborate effectively in Agile, cross-functional teams , participating in daily SCRUMs, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives. Liaise closely with backend developers (Java), UI/UX designers, QA testers, SEO specialists, and implementation teams to ensure end-to-end product quality. Translate customer requirements and UX designs into efficient, user-friendly, and accessible solutions. Actively contribute to bug fixing , UI debugging , and performance optimization efforts across multiple browsers and devices. Stay current with emerging technologies , frontend frameworks, and development practices; proactively recommend tools or enhancements when appropriate. Maintain flexibility and adaptability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving development environment . Embrace and promote design system consistency , accessibility standards (WCAG), and clean code principles. Support a culture of continuous improvement , including peer code reviews and constructive feedback. Undertake additional tasks and responsibilities as reasonably required to fulfill the role. Qualifications and Education Requirements Bachelors degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience). 5+ years of hands-on experience in backend development. Certifications in Java, React, AWS, or Azure, Micro Services (preferred but not mandatory). Essential Criteria Strong commercial experience with HTML5 , CSS3 , Vanilla JavaScript , and modern libraries such as React , Angular , Vue , and jQuery . Practical experience in Node.js for frontend build tools or server-side rendering (e.g., Next.js , Gatsby ). Proven ability to deliver responsive web applications optimized for cross-browser and cross-device performance. Competence using developer tools and browser consoles for debugging, profiling, and fine-tuning frontend code. Solid understanding of clean coding principles , web standards , usability , UX/UI design , and customer journey optimization . Awareness and implementation of SEO best practices relevant to client-side applications. Knowledge of website performance optimization , including lazy loading, bundling, caching, and image optimization. Demonstrated ability to plan, prioritize, and manage workloads in a fast-paced Agile environment. Awareness of frontend security considerations , such as XSS, CSRF, and content security policies. Adaptability and flexibility, with a proactive and can-do attitude . Dedication to producing high-quality, well-tested, maintainable code with strong attention to detail . Eagerness to learn new technologies and development approaches . Effective verbal and written communication skills , with an analytical approach to problem-solving . Technical Skills Strong proficiency in HTML5 , CSS3 , and JavaScript (ES6+) Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks including React , AngularJS , and Vue.js Familiarity with Node.js for frontend tooling and server-side rendering frameworks like Next.js and Gatsby Responsive web design and cross-browser compatibility techniques Working knowledge of Git and collaborative development practices Understanding of RESTful APIs and integration with backend services (e.g., Java) Awareness of SEO , accessibility standards , and web performance optimization Experience working in Agile/SCRUM environments and using CI/CD pipelines. Preferable Criteria Awareness of Content Management Systems (CMS) and their role in delivering dynamic, content-driven web applications. Familiarity with CSS pre-processors (e.g., SCSS/SASS ) and task runners such as Gulp or Grunt for build automation. Exposure to legacy or transitional frontend technologies such as Knockout.js , and a basic understanding of backend platforms like .NET or C# to facilitate cross-functional collaboration. Experience using Visual Studio or similar IDEs in mixed front-end/back-end development environments. Understanding of unit testing practices and their role within the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) , especially in ensuring code quality and maintainability.
