Defect Tracking and Reporting: Proficiency in identifying, documenting, and managing defects using tools like JIRA, Bugzilla, or Mantis. 5. Exploratory Testing: Skills in exploring the application to find issues not covered by test cases. 6. Manual Testing Techniques: Proficiency in functional, regression, integration, system, acceptance, and usability testing. Technical Skills: 7. Basic Knowledge of SQL: Ability to write and execute basic SQL queries to validate data in the database. 8. Understanding of Web Technologies: Familiarity with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to understand web applications. 9. Experience with Testing Tools: While manual testing focuses on non-automated techniques, experience with tools like Postman for API testing or various browser developer tools is beneficial. Soft Skills: 10. Attention to Detail: Strong focus on identifying small issues and ensuring thorough coverage of all test scenarios. 11. Analytical Thinking: Ability to analyze requirements and design effective test cases to ensure comprehensive testing. 12. Communication Skills: Clear and effective communication with team members, developers, and stakeholders, including writing detailed bug reports. 13. Problem-Solving and Pressure handling: Capability to troubleshoot issues, determine their root causes, and suggest possible solutions. Ability to handle pressure and deliver on time. 14. Time Management: Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively to meet deadlines. Additional Skills : 15. Knowledge of Agile/Scrum Methodologies: Familiarity with Agile principles and how testing fits into Agile processes. 16. Basic Programming Knowledge:While not always required, understanding programming concepts can be advantageous for better collaboration with developers. 17. Understanding of Different Types of Testing:Awareness of performance testing, security testing, compatibility testing, and usability testing, even if not actively performed. 18. Experience with Test Management Tools:Familiarity with tools like JIRA for managing test cases and tracking progress. 19. Scenario and Use Case Testing:Skills in creating and executing tests based on real-world scenarios and use cases. 20.
