About the Role: We are seeking a Solutions Engineer with expertise in industrial automation, solution design, and mechanical system integration. This role requires a unique blend of electrical, mechanical, and software engineering knowledge to design and deliver comprehensive automation solutions. You will collaborate with customers, sales, and engineering teams to develop tailored solutions incorporating edge computing, IIoT, PLCs, SCADA, industrial networking, and mechanical systems. Key Responsibilities: Solution Design & Architecture: -Develop and present end-to-end industrial automation solutions that integrate mechanical, electrical, and software components. -Design mechanical components, enclosures, and mounting systems for automation hardware, ensuring compatibility with industrial environments. -Work with industrial communication protocols such as Modbus, OPC UA, MQTT, EtherNet/IP, and Profinet. Mechanical System Integration: -Collaborate on mechanical design for industrial automation systems, ensuring compliance with safety, durability, and environmental standards. -Work with CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar) to design enclosures, machine interfaces, and custom mounting solutions. -Assess thermal management, vibration resistance, and structural integrity of industrial enclosures and edge devices. Pre-Sales & Customer Engagement: -Conduct technical presentations and demonstrations, translating complex solutions into business value for customers. -Gather client requirements, perform site assessments, and recommend best-fit automation solutions. Technical Implementation Support: -Assist in PoC (Proof of Concept) deployments, troubleshoot integration issues, and optimize system performance. -Provide hands-on support for integrating mechanical and automation systems in customer environments. Collaboration & Documentation: -Work closely with electrical, software, and mechanical engineers to refine solutions and incorporate customer feedback. -Develop technical documentation, including solution blueprints, CAD drawings, and integration guidelines. Industry Expertise: -Stay updated on emerging technologies in industrial automation, IIoT, mechanical system design, and edge computing. Required Skills & Qualifications: -Education: Bachelor's or Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Automation, or a related field. Experience: -5+ years in industrial automation, IIoT, or mechanical system design. -Experience in solution design, system integration, and mechanical engineering for industrial environments. Technical Expertise: -Mechanical design: Proficiency in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar CAD tools for enclosure and system integration. -Automation & Controls: Knowledge of PLCs, SCADA, industrial sensors, actuators, and robotics. -Industrial Communication: Familiarity with Modbus, OPC UA, MQTT, EtherNet/IP, Profinet, and fieldbus protocols. -Edge Computing & IIoT: Experience with AWS IoT, Azure IoT, Ignition, Kepware, and embedded systems. -Networking & Cybersecurity: Understanding of industrial networking, LAN/WAN, VPNs, and cybersecurity standards (IEC 62443). Preferred Qualifications: -Experience with thermal and structural analysis for industrial enclosures. -Familiarity with AI/ML for predictive maintenance and cloud-based industrial analytics. -Knowledge of robotic system integration, motion control, and precision mechanical design. -Experience with containerized applications (Docker, Kubernetes) on edge devices.
