Job Description

Role- Sr. Manager-Legal Contract Management Location- Pune Key Responsibilities- 1. Contract Draft, Review and Analysis Drafting, negotiate and review Contracts for purchase of various equipment, services, EPC contract. Verify terms and conditions, clauses, and obligations to ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and company policies. Highlight and address inconsistencies, ambiguities, and risks within contracts. 2. Risk Identification and Mitigation Assess risks related to terms, payment conditions, warranties, indemnities, and liabilities. Conducting periodical due diligence. Suggest revisions or alternate clauses to reduce exposure to financial, operational, and legal risks. Work with stakeholders to ensure balanced and mutually beneficial agreements. 3. Legal and Regulatory Compliance Ensure all contracts adhere to relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards. Monitor evolving legal requirements & industry regulations that may impact contract language/practices. Liaise with legal counsel to address complex or high-risk contracts. 4. Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement Collaborate with internal teams (sales, procurement, operations, and finance) to understand contract requirements and business objectives. Provide guidance to stakeholders on contractual terms and potential implications. Act as a key contact for resolving disputes or clarifications related to contract terms. 5. Documentation and Reporting Maintain organized records of all vetted contracts and related correspondence. Track contract statuses and provide regular updates to senior management. Develop contract summaries and highlight critical obligations and deadlines. 6. Process Development and Improvements Establish and standardize contract vetting processes and workflows to improve efficiency. Train internal teams on contract vetting best practices, key clauses, and risk awareness. Evaluate and update contract templates to reflect current legal standards and business requirements. Qualifications and Skills- Educational Background LLB, or a related field. Masters degree or additional certifications in Contract Mgt. or Legal Studies is preferred. Experience Minimum 3-9 years working experience in Tier-1 or Tier law firms having exposer to various types of contract drafting. Strong exposure to contracts in industries such as manufacturing, steel, construction, or heavy industries is highly desirable. Technical Skills Proficiency in contract management software and tools. Familiarity with legal research databases and resources. Performance Metrics- Accuracy : Quality of contract reviews with minimal errors or missed risks. Turnaround Time : Timely review and approval of contracts to support business operations. Risk Mitigation : Reduction in legal and financial exposure through effective vetting. Stakeholder Satisfaction : Positive feedback from teams on contract-related support.
