Job Description

About the Position The Project Associate - Forestry & Agriculture will support the implementation of sustainable forestry and agricultural projects in Nashik. The role involves working closely with local communities, farmers, government agencies, and corporate partners to promote environmental conservation and rural livelihoods. Responsibilities Project Implementation: Assist in executing forestry, environment and agricultural projects, including plantation drives, agroforestry, and climate-resilient farming initiatives. Community Engagement: Work with local farmers and communities to promote sustainable agriculture and afforestation practices. Training & Capacity Building: Conduct awareness sessions and training programs on sustainable farming, soil conservation, and water management. Field Visits & Monitoring: Conduct regular field visits to track project progress, collect data, and document impact stories. Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborate with government officials, NGOs, corporate partners, and local communities to ensure project success. Report & Documentation: Assist in preparing reports, case studies, and impact assessments for ongoing projects. Logistics & Operations: Support procurement, distribution of resources, and logistical arrangements for project activities. Mandatory Qualification and Experience: Bachelor s or Master s degree in Agriculture, Forestry, Environmental Science, Rural Development, or a related field. 1-3 years of experience in forestry, sustainable agriculture, rural development, or related areas. Basic knowledge of afforestation, agroforestry, watershed management, and climate-smart agriculture. Experience in community engagement and capacity building is preferred. Strong communication and coordination skills. Proficiency in Marathi, Hindi, and English is an advantage. Willingness to travel to project locations as required. Skills: Familiarity with GIS mapping and remote sensing tools. Knowledge of organic farming, soil conservation, and water resource management. Ability to write project reports and document best practices. Requirements: Must possess a valid two-wheeler driving license.
