Position Title: Production ManagerLocation: MysuruReports To: MDDepartment: ProductionPosition Summary: The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing the entire production process, ensuring that gears are manufactured efficiently, cost-effectively, and to the highest quality standards. This role involves managing production schedules, coordinating with various departments, and leading a team of production staff to achieve the company's production goals.Key Responsibilities:Production Planning and Scheduling:Develop and implement production plans and schedules to meet customer demands and deadlines.Monitor production activities and adjust schedules as needed to ensure timely delivery.Process Management:Oversee the gear manufacturing process, ensuring adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and quality standards and customer specifications.Identify areas for process improvement and implement changes to enhance productivity and efficiency and achieve cost effectivity.Quality Control:Ensure that all products meet the company's quality standards and and are according to customer requirements and specifications.Implement and maintain quality control procedures to detect and address defects or issues.Team Management:Lead, train, and motivate the production team to achieve production targets.Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members.Resource Management:Manage resources, including raw materials, machinery, and labor, to optimize production efficiency.Coordinate with procurement to ensure the timely availability of materials.Health and Safety:Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the production area.Promote a culture of safety and conduct regular safety audits and training.Collaboration:Work closely with other departments, including engineering, maintenance, quality assurance, and logistics, to ensure smooth production operations.Reporting:Prepare and present production reports, on efficiency, output, and quality.Analyze production data and make informed decisions to improve operations.Continuous Improvement:Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the production team.Implement lean manufacturing principles and other improvement methodologies to enhance production processes.Qualifications:Bachelors degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.Minimum of 20 years of experience in production management, preferably in the gear manufacturing industry.Strong knowledge of gear manufacturing processes, including CNC machining, heat treatment, and finishing operations.Proven leadership and team management skills.Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.Strong organizational and time management skills.Knowledge of quality control standards and health and safety regulations.Proficiency in production planning software and ERP systems.Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
