Employee Name : Job Details Job Title Tool RoomDepartmentTool RoomReporting to Band6Jobs Reporting IntoSupervisors/ AssociatesLocation/PlantJakkasandraNo. of Reportees (Direct & Indirect) Job Objective To manufacture tools, dies, fixtures and other manufacturing aids as per requirements of Production departments, in a timely and cost effective manner. Primary ResponsibilitiesFinancial Ensure adherence to approved departmental maintenance budget Generate cost savings through reduced wastage, defects, re-cycling/ re-processing and increased production yields in tool manufacturing process Customer ¢ Manufacture and provide tools, dies, fixtures etc. to die maintenance as per quality and time requirements ¢ Support die maintenance department in troubleshooting die breakdowns Process ¢ Ensure production of dies and tools as per finalized plan to ensure achievement of targets ¢ Manage operations such as Hardening, nitriding, VMC, EDM operations, polishing, fitting etc. as per defined specifications and quality standards ¢ Coordinate with Stores for creation of RGPs for outsourced processes such as die nitriding; Follow up with outsourced vendors for timely return of dies post completion of activities ¢ Co-ordinate and follow up with the purchase department and stores for procurement of raw material, machine spare parts and consumables required for tool and die development ¢ Ensure proper storage of raw material in the tool room for preparing machine ¢ Support department head in execution of improvement/ business excellence initiatives in Tool Room, as may be required such as Kaizens, Quality Circles, 5S etc. ¢ Conduct trials of new dies/ tools along with Die Maintenance and Quality department, as and when required, as per defined specifications; Submit die trial reports; Improve quality of tools/ dies manufactured by recuing number of trials ¢ Comply with all regulatory and statutory requirements as specified by ISO, OHSAS, TS etc. ¢ Ensure maintenance of proper documentation of tool room operations ¢ Ensure timely MIS with respect to tools/dies/fixtures manufactured, spares consumption data, scrap generation etc. Learning & Development ¢ Conduct on the job trainings for operators for enhancing technical know-how of machines, operations and systems ¢ Ensure timely completion of all stages of Performance Appraisal Process ¢ Undergo trainings to update skills for enhancing productivity Key Result Areas (KRAs) & Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)CategoryKRAKPIFinancial Cost Optimization% Adherence to BudgetCost Saving% Cost Saving through reduction in scrap/ wastage/ re-processing etc. Process Operational EfficiencyPlanned Vs.
