Role & responsibilities Monitor and maintain the health of MS SQL databases to ensure maximum availability and performance. Perform routine database maintenance tasks, including backups, indexing, and optimisation. Proactively identify and resolve database issues, ensuring minimal disruption to operations. Troubleshoot database-related problems and provide solutions in a timely manner. Proactively tune our monitoring tools to provide continuous improvement to our customers Assist with preparation and dissemination of key Database performance metrics. Assist with database migrations, upgrades, and patches as required. Monitor database security measures to protect sensitive data. Collaborate with internal teams to provide database support and resolve technical issues. Create and maintain database documentation, including procedures, configurations, and troubleshooting guides. Participate in disaster recovery planning and testing. Stay updated on the latest SQL Server developments and best practices.Preferred candidate profile Must have 5-8 years of Experience in SQL DBAProven experience as a Database Administrator, specifically with MS SQL Server. Strong knowledge of SQL Server architecture, performance tuning, and query optimisation. Experience with database backups, restores, and disaster recovery methods. Understanding of database security protocols and encryption methods. Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex database issues. Proficient in scripting and automation for database tasks. Familiarity with cloud-based database solutions (e.g., Azure, AWS) is a plus. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a remote setting.
