Job Description As part of the CTO Office, you will be key in building and maturing foundational platform stacks critical to the data product experience on top of DataOS. We're looking for a hands-on Python engineer who thrives on solving core engineering problems, builds with discipline, and understands the intricacies of backend systems and modern data workflows. Key Responsibilities: Design, build, and optimize platform services using Python (OOPs-based architecture). Contribute to the evolution of foundational components Work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate with SQL-based data stores using SQLAlchemy or equivalent ORMs. Develop and maintain APIs using Flask, FastAPI, or Django. Write clean, testable, and well-documented code. Participate in code reviews, architectural discussions, and technical planning. Requirements 4+ years of experience in backend development Strong proficiency in Python (Go is a strong plus) Solid understanding of system design, REST APIs, and backend infrastructure Hands-on experience with open-source tools, libraries, or contributions Proficiency in writing and optimizing SQL queries Familiarity with containerized environments (Docker/Kubernetes) Good to Have Experience with event-driven architectures and asynchronous programming Knowledge of gRPC, GraphQL, or other modern API standards Exposure to cloud-native ecosystems (AWS/GCP/Azure) Contributions to open-source projects or a strong GitHub profile Benefits Working at Modern First and foremost, our value system is sacred to us – HEAT: Humility, Empathy, Accountability and Transparency.
