Role & responsibilities We are seeking a reliable and organized Storekeeper to join our team. The Storekeeper will be responsible for the efficient management of goods and materials in the warehouse or store. This role involves overseeing inventory levels, ensuring the accurate receipt and dispatch of goods, and maintaining proper stock records. The ideal candidate should have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to managing inventory. Inventory Management: Receive, inspect, and store goods and materials received from suppliers or vendors. Ensure inventory levels are accurate and up to date, using inventory management systems. Monitor stock levels, report any discrepancies, and assist in reordering stock when necessary. Ensure proper rotation of stock (FIFO/FEFO) to maintain product quality. Stock Organization: Organize goods and materials in the store/warehouse for easy retrieval and minimal disruption. Label and categorize stock for easy identification and access. Maintain clean and organized storage areas, ensuring products are properly stored and handled according to safety and quality standards. Inventory Audits: Perform regular stock audits and inventory checks to ensure stock levels match the records. Report and investigate any inventory discrepancies or losses. Prepare and maintain reports of inventory usage, stock movements, and audits for management review. Goods Issuance and Delivery: Issue goods or materials to the respective departments, ensuring proper documentation is maintained. Ensure that goods are dispatched and delivered in a timely manner, according to company procedures. Coordinate with logistics teams for the delivery and transportation of goods when necessary Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate records of all goods received, stored, and dispatched, including quantities, batch numbers, and expiry dates. Ensure all stock transactions (goods receipts, issues, returns) are logged and reported properly. Prepare and file reports for inventory usage, stock levels, and discrepancies. Coordination and Communication: Work closely with other departments (e.g., procurement, sales, production) to ensure smooth flow of goods and materials. Communicate with suppliers for delivery schedules, stock replenishment, and any issues with orders. Preferred candidate profile Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in inventory or warehouse management. Basic knowledge of stock management, purchasing, and distribution. Familiarity with inventory management systems or ERP software. Strong computer skills, particularly with MS Office applications (Excel, Word).
