Job Description

Role & responsibilities Leadership & Team Management : Lead, inspire, and motivate a diverse team to achieve store goals and deliver exceptional customer service. Provide regular feedback, coaching, and development opportunities to team members. Foster a positive and inclusive work environment that aligns with Hamleys values and culture. Sales & Performance : Drive sales and profitability through effective merchandising, promotions, and customer engagement strategies. Analyze sales data, trends, and KPIs to identify opportunities for improvement. Set and track performance targets for both individual team members and the store as a whole. Customer Experience : Ensure that every customer enjoys a memorable and enjoyable shopping experience. Handle customer inquiries and resolve any issues or complaints in a timely and professional manner. Maintain high standards of product knowledge, ensuring staff are well-equipped to assist customers. Operations Management : Oversee day-to-day store operations, including stock management, visual merchandising, and store maintenance. Ensure adherence to Hamleys operational processes and procedures, including inventory control and loss prevention. Manage store opening and closing procedures, including cash handling and security protocols. Staffing & Recruitment : Manage staffing levels to ensure optimal coverage during peak and off-peak times. Assist in the recruitment, onboarding, and training of new employees. Promote a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging team members to develop new skills and grow within the company. Health & Safety : Ensure the store complies with all relevant health, safety, and legal regulations. Maintain a safe and clean working environment for both customers and staff. Marketing & Events : Collaborate with the marketing team to execute in-store events, promotions, and campaigns. Drive participation in local community events and partnerships to enhance brand visibility. Preferred candidate profile Proven experience in retail management or a leadership role in a similar customer-focused environment. Strong understanding of retail sales and performance metrics. Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to lead and motivate a team to achieve set goals. A passion for toys, customer service, and delivering a memorable experience. Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, based on business needs. Perks and benefits
