Job Title : Sybase Database Administrator Your Role: Responsible for planning, supporting and executing global and regional infrastructure projects (Legacy to IaaS Sybase database migrations and upgrades) Support activities related to database support during infrastructure events, changes related to database maintenance, DC activities. Remediation and migration of the banks end of life infrastructure. Compliance with operational / change management guidelines. Knowledge in Sybase database administration, Replication, Linux, Commvault is Must. DBA support for all routine database administrative tasks. Cross training to support other RDBMS areas like Mssql & PostgreSQL is plus Your experience and skills: You are: An experienced SYABSE DBA with a track record of working in large financial institutions A flexible, open-minded team worker, with a friendly and pleasant personality Self-driven, multitasking with ability to work under pressure Willing to work in shifts as per rotation derived for optimal support. Able to manage, priorities and solve problems quickly and completely You have: At least 5 to 10 years' experience and knowledge of the following RDBMS technologies Sybase 11x,12x, 12.5x, 15x & 16x Sybase Replication Server 12.6/15 Sybase DCO for Oracle Sybase CIS connecting to Oracle Experience in large enterprises supporting 500+ servers Installation of Sybase software and Sybase Replication. Capable to perform Sybase database setup, database upgrades, space management, backup & recovery Diagnose and resolve performance issues, connectivity/security issues and database corruptions in a critical production environment Setup and maintain High-Availability and Disaster Recovery solutions in Sybase using Sybase Replication. Familiar in Unix system administration relevant to Sybase database management. Experience in supporting multiple server installations on a single box and very large Sybase databases. Experience in troubleshooting Sybase Replication problems. Capable of providing provide 24X7 support in a critical production environment. Capable of handling workload and volume. Effective multi-tasking. Should be able to deliver and drive tasks independently as well as a team player, positively contribute to meet the team goals & exhibit ownership of deliverables. Strong scripting skills in UNIX shell environment. Excellent level of both spoken and written English Experience in ITIL process & ticketing systems is added advantage Ability to work and remain calm in a high pressure environment Good team working skills Comments: Based in Pune /Mumbai
