Systems Engineer II - Bigdata knowledge, DevOps and automation

Job Description

Specialize on bigdata systems area. Focus on all work being high quality as a priority to avoid rework and ensure delivery is right first time. Develop changes to both internal and 3rd party system components to meet a delivery need. I follow established practices and guidance using the latest tools and techniques. Operate existing area and resolve issues with the help of engineers using existing procedures, my knowledge, and the knowledge of those around me. Will have a range of technical understanding of the skills (for each area) including Compute Platforms Windows, Linux, Virtualization, Public & Private cloud Database – Oracle, SQL administration, No SQL databases General skill - DevOps tools, Scripting, Version control, Monitoring Skilled in monitoring application usage & configurations. Understanding of agile ways of working Collaborate with end users and other engineering team and create templates for onboarding. Keep my technical knowledge up to date and keep track of new technologies Implement changes successfully and aware of the change management processes Key people and teams I work within and outside of Tesco Software Engineers Systems Engineers Technical Programme Managers Colleagues and business stakeholders across Tesco Stakeholder management Technical skills as appropriate to specialism Agile Understanding of networks, operating systems, and databases Experience relevant for this job Previous experience delivering system engineering solutions.
