Job Description

The DP Visual Art Teacher will be responsible for delivering the IB Diploma Programme Visual Arts curriculum to students in grades 11 and 12. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in visual arts, a passion for teaching, and a commitment to fostering a stimulating and supportive learning environment. Key Responsibilities: Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality visual arts lessons that align with the IB DP Visual Arts curriculum and educational standards. Develop and implement a variety of instructional strategies to meet the diverse needs of students. Guide students in developing their technical skills, creative expression, and critical analysis in visual arts. Support students in the creation of their studio work, process portfolio, and comparative study, ensuring adherence to IB assessment criteria. Foster a classroom environment that encourages experimentation, creativity, and self-expression. Stay current with developments in the field of visual arts and incorporate contemporary practices and technologies into lessons. Organize and supervise student exhibitions, ensuring high standards of presentation and curation. Assess and evaluate students progress, providing regular feedback to support their artistic and academic development. Prepare students for internal and external assessments, including the IB Visual Arts examination. Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the overall educational experience and contribute to the development of the visual arts program. Participate in school-wide activities, meetings, and professional development opportunities. Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding students progress and any concerns. Maintain a safe, organized, and well-equipped art studio.
