The R&D Tech Delivery Head is responsible for leading and managing the Research and Development (R&D) department of the software product company. This role involves driving innovation, overseeing the development of new software products, managing technical teams, and ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality solutions. The R&D Department Head will play a key role in shaping the company's product strategy, fostering a culture of innovation, and driving excellence in research and development. Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage the R&D department engineering teams Providing strategic direction, guidance, and mentorship to technical teams. Drive the development of new software products and solutions, from concept to delivery, ensuring alignment with the company's strategic and quality objectives. Collaborate with product management, engineering, UX/UI design and other cross-functional teams to define product requirements, prioritize features, and deliver innovative solutions that enhance the user experience. Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of R&D projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, budget, and quality standards. Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the R&D department, encouraging experimentation, creativity, and collaboration. Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in software development to inform product strategy and innovation initiatives. Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including senior management, product managers, and technical teams, to drive alignment on R&D priorities and initiatives. Provide regular updates and reports on R&D project status, key milestones, and performance metrics to senior management and stakeholders. Support the recruitment, training, and development of technical talent within the R&D department, ensuring a high-performing and motivated team. Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements, quality standards, and industry best practices in software development. Qualifications and Skills: Degree in computer science, Engineering, or related technical field; advanced degree preferred. Should have a minimum of 20 years experience in software development, of which a minimum of 10 years experience should be in research and development, with a proven track record of leading and managing technical teams in a software product company. Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire, motivate, and mentor technical teams to achieve excellence. Deep understanding of software development methodologies, processes, and tools, with hands-on experience in Agile, Scrum, or similar frameworks. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify market opportunities, analyse data, and drive product innovation. Experience in product management, product development, or related roles focused on e-commerce is highly desirable. Certification in project management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) is a plus.
