A CPQ Architect is a technical specialist who designs, builds, and implements Configure, Price, Quote (CPQ) solutions. They are responsible for translating business requirements into technical designs, ensuring optimal performance and integration with other systems. This role often involves leading implementations, providing guidance to teams, and ensuring compliance with best practices. Key Responsibilities of a CPQ Architect: Design and Development: Develop and design CPQ solutions that align with business objectives and technology best practices. Implementation: Lead and guide the implementation of CPQ projects, ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance. Technical Leadership: Provide technical leadership and guidance to teams, including code reviews and establishing development standards. Problem Solving: Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to CPQ, including those arising from integrations. Integration Expertise: Design and manage integrations between CPQ and other systems, including CRM platforms such as Salesforce. Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand requirements and ensure that solutions meet their needs. Process Optimization: Analyze and optimize CPQ processes to improve efficiency and accuracy. Documentation: Document solutions and processes to ensure maintainability and knowledge transfer. Training and Support: Provide training and support to users on the use of CPQ systems. Skills and Qualifications: Experience: Proven experience in implementing CPQ or similar platforms. Technical Skills: Strong understanding of Salesforce, CPQ, and related technologies. Problem-solving: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues. Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with stakeholders and teams. Leadership: Experience leading and guiding technical teams. Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze business processes and identify areas for improvement. Documentation: Ability to create and maintain technical documentation. Typical Tasks: Designing CPQ configurations and workflows. Building and testing product rules. Setting up pricing and quoting rules. Creating custom components and integrations.
