Trainee - Field Geophysicist

Experience : Fresher Qualification : Post Graduate Degree in Marine Geophysics/Marine Geophysics Job Summary : We are seeking a highly motivated Trainee - Geophysicist to join our team in the marine industry. The selected candidate will assist in conducting geophysical surveys, data acquisition, and interpretation using advanced marine survey equipment and software. This role provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in offshore and nearshore geophysical investigations. Key Responsibilities: : Assist in marine geophysical survey operations, including data acquisition, processing, and interpretation. Operate and maintain geophysical survey equipment such as Sub-Bottom Profiler (SBP), Magnetometer, and Side Scan Sonar. Work with hydrographic and geophysical survey software, including Hypack and Qinsy, for data collection and processing. Support the planning and execution of geophysical investigations for subsea infrastructure, pipeline routes, and seabed mapping. Assist in analyzing and interpreting geophysical data to identify geological formations and seabed characteristics. Prepare technical reports and documentation based on survey findings. Collaborate with senior geophysicists and field teams to ensure accurate data collection and quality control. Adhere to health, safety, and environmental regulations during offshore and field operations. Qualifications & Skills:: Educational Qualification: Postgraduate degree in Marine Geophysics, Applied Geology, Marine Geology, or Geology. Strong theoretical knowledge of marine geophysical survey techniques and geological processes. Familiarity with geophysical survey instruments such as SBP, Magnetometer, and Side Scan Sonar. Proficiency in geophysical and hydrographic software such as Hypack and Qinsy. Good analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work in offshore and field environments as required. Strong teamwork, communication, and adaptability skills. Willingness to travel and work on marine survey projects
