Designation: Scientific Lead Location: Pune, India (Hybrid) As a Scientific Lead, you will report to the Manager KB and your tasks will consist of application on strong molecular biology and cancer biology background to curate, interpret and represent data from variety of sources into logical rules that form the core of our clinical genomics knowledgebase. What do you bring to the table - Ph.D. in genetics, genomics, molecular biology, or an equivalent with 4+ years of postdoc or work experience OR - Master s degree in molecular biology, genetics, biotechnology, or biochemistry with 8+ years of work experience - Genetic and molecular understanding of human disease. - Good understanding of genomic databases and their annotations (For example: GenBank, RefSeq, dbSNP etc.). - Basic understanding of cancer biology and signaling pathways. - An understanding of bioinformatics analysis to identify variants within genomic data sets is desirable. - Proficiency in communicating and understanding of genetic variant details. - An enthusiastic "can-do" mentality with leadership skills, a dedicated team-worker, having good verbal and written communication skills. - Previous experience as an experimental scientist in applied science or hands-on experience in oncogenomic diagnostic laboratories is a big plus. - Experience with open-source bioinformatics tools and publicly available variant databases is a plus. - Personal initiative and ability to work effectively as part of a team. - Excellent communication skills. AI Model and Pipeline Validation Design and implement test plans and test cases for AI frameworks to ensure comprehensive validation of functionality, accuracy, and performance. Validate AI model outputs, identify discrepancies, and report bias in results. Ensure end-to-end validation of data pipelines, including data ingestion, preprocessing, transformation, and model deployment. Identify and resolve functional and non-functional issues in AI models and data workflows. 2. Test Automation Scripting Develop and execute automated test scripts using Python. Utilize test automation tools like Selenium, PyTest, or similar frameworks to enhance testing efficiency. Implement CI/CD testing frameworks for AI/ML pipelines. 3. Cloud-Based AI Testing Conduct AI application testing on cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud. Ensure AI model performance remains optimal across different environments and scenarios. Validate large datasets, ensuring data preprocessing, augmentation, and quality assurance. 4. AI/ML Model Performance Testing Identify and report bottlenecks in AI models. Conduct stress testing for AI models in real-world use cases. 5. Collaboration Quality Assurance Work closely with AI/ML engineers, data scientists, and software engineers to define quality standards. Contribute to compliance with AI-related regulatory and industry best practices. Document and maintain test cases, defect reports, and validation procedures for AI systems. What do you bring to the table Strong experience in designing and implementing test cases for AI frameworks. Experience in validating AI model outputs and identifying discrepancies or biases. Attention to detail in identifying functional and non-functional issues in AI models. Proficiency in scripting and developing automated test scripts using Python Hands-on experience with test automation tools (Selenium, PyTest, etc.). What will you do Lead and participate in collaborative solutioning sessions with business stakeholders, translating business requirements and challenges into well-defined machine learning/data science use cases and comprehensive AI solution specifications. Architect robust and scalable AI solutions that enable data-driven decision-making, leveraging a deep understanding of statistical modeling, machine learning, and deep learning techniques to forecast business outcomes and optimize performance. Design and implement data integration strategies to unify and streamline diverse data sources, creating a consistent and cohesive data landscape for AI model development. Develop efficient and programmatic methods for synthesizing large volumes of data, extracting relevant features, and preparing data for AI model training and validation. Leverage advanced feature engineering techniques and quantitative methods, including statistical modeling, machine learning, deep learning, and generative AI, to implement, validate , and optimize AI models for accuracy, reliability, and performance. Simplify data presentation to help stakeholders easily grasp insights and make informed decisions. Maintain a deep understanding of the latest advancements in AI and generative AI, including various model architectures, training methodologies, and evaluation metrics . Identify opportunities to leverage generative AI to securely and ethically address business needs, optimize existing processes, and drive innovation . Contribute to project management processes, providing regular status updates, and ensuring the t imely delivery of high-quality AI solutions. Primarily responsible for contributing to project delivery and maximizing business impact through effective AI solution architecture and implementation . Occasionally contribute technical expertis e during pre-sales engagements and support internal operational improvements as needed. What do you bring to the table A bachelors or masters degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering) is required . The ideal candidate will have a strong background in designing and implementing end-to-end AI/ML pipelines, including feature engineering, model training, and inference. Experience with Generative AI pipelines is needed . 8+ years of experience in AI/ML development, with at least 3+ years in an AI architecture role. Fluency in Python and SQL and noSQL is essential. Experience with common data science libraries such as pandas and Scikit-learn, as well as deep learning frameworks like PyTorch and TensorFlow, is required. Hands-on experience with cloud-based AI/ML platforms and tools, such as AWS (SageMaker, Bedrock), GCP (Vertex AI, Gemini), Azure AI Studio, or OpenAI, is a must . What will you do Execute tasks with ownership and responsibility. Evaluate peer-reviewed experimental research for annotation. Collect and integrate data from scientific literature published by clinical and human genome research groups. Documenting the effects of genomic variants and the association with disease, using controlled vocabularies, ontologies and established guidelines. Maintain specifications and monitor day-to-day operations of the literature searching and triage pipelines and various error-checking processes. What do you bring to the table Fresh PhDs or MSc with 3-4 years experience. Genetic and molecular understanding of human disease. Good understanding of genomic databases and their annotations (For example GenBank, RefSeq, dbSNP, etc.). Basic understanding of cancer biology and signaling pathways is a plus. An understanding of bioinformatics analysis to identify variants within genomic data sets is desirable. Proficiency in communicating and understanding of genetic variant details. An enthusiastic "can-do" mentality with leadership skills, a dedicated team-worker, having good verbal and written communication skills. Previous experience as an experimental scientist is a big plus.
