Job Description

Execute the Animal breeding program as per the requirement of the Test facility. Assist in Procurement, transportation and quarantine of animals. Ensure the conduct of Health monitoring of animals Declare the health status of animals before issuance for the study. Ensure the timely supply of experimental animals as per request of study directors. Treatment and care of sick animals. Ensure proper handling and ethical care of lab animals as per SOP Planning the proper storage of feed and bedding material and monitoring of storage areas. Ensure the Analysis of feed, bedding material and water samples. Environmental monitoring to meet the animal husbandry requirement of the species. Plan and execute procurement of animal husbandry requirements in timely manner. Ensure the Calibration and maintenance of instruments and equipment of animal facility. Monitor and train the animal house assistants in function of animal care and personal safety. Develop, implement and revise SOPs and Formats as per GLP requirements. Assist in organizing IAEC meetings and maintain all records and communications pertaining to IAEC. Supporting the conduct of Toxicological studies in Rodents and Rabbits Observation and recording of morbidity, mortality, clinical signs including detailed clinical signs and ophthalmological examination. Collection of blood and urine from rat, mice, guinea pigs and rabbits and separation of plasma/serum. Perform anesthesia and analgesia as per applicable SOPs. Recording of raw data promptly and accurately and in compliance with the principles of Good Laboratory Practices. Organ weighting and bone marrow smear preparation. Record SOP and Study Plan Deviations if any and communicate to the Study Director Update Log Books in a timely manner with dated signature. Perform euthanasia, necropsy and gross pathology examination of animals in toxicity studies as per applicable SOP Any other responsibility assigned by the Management from time to time
