Job Summary: Karamtara Engineering Ltd is seeking a highly experienced Vice President - Procurement to lead and manage the procurement operations for our organization. The ideal candidate will have at least 20 years of relevant experience in raw materials, equipment, and capital expenditure (capex) procurement. Candidates with experience in the steel, power, or renewable energy sectors will be given preference. This role demands expertise in handling global procurement for brownfield and greenfield projects, managing large-volume capex and raw material procurement, and leading a high-performing procurement team. Key Responsibilities: Global Procurement Management: Oversee and manage procurement operations across international markets for various brownfield and greenfield projects. Capex and Raw Material Procurement: Handle large-scale procurement of capital expenditure items and raw materials, ensuring cost-effectiveness and quality. Vendor Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with global suppliers and vendors Vendor evaluation to ensure a stable supply of required equipments/materials/services. Strategic Planning: Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with the company's business goals and project timelines. Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and manage the procurement team to achieve high levels of performance and efficiency. Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks associated with procurement, supply chain disruptions, and vendor agreements. Budget Optimization: Monitor and optimize procurement budgets to ensure financial efficiency. Compliance: Ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements, company policies, and ethical procurement practices. Qualifications and Skills: A minimum of 20 years of experience in procurement, with a strong focus on raw materials, equipment, and capex. Demonstrated experience in managing procurement in the steel, power, or renewable energy sectors is highly preferred. Proven track record in handling global procurement for large-scale brownfield and greenfield projects. Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team effectively. Strong negotiation, analytical, and decision-making abilities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in procurement management software and tools. Bachelors degree in supply chain management, business administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
