Reports to: Chief Operations Officer (COO) Key Skills/Technologies: Operations Management, Manufacturing Leadership, Supply Chain Optimization, Quality Assurance, Financial Oversight, Strategic Planning, Compliance & Risk Management Experience: 15+ years in senior-level operations management within a manufacturing environment Role Overview The Vice President of Operations will be responsible for overseeing and leading all operational functions of the company, including manufacturing, quality control, finance, HR, and local supply chain and logistics. This leadership role requires a strong strategic mindset, operational expertise, and the ability to manage cross-functional teams to deliver results in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, ensuring the seamless execution of operational activities and alignment with global objectives. The VP of Operations will be part of the Group Leadership Team based in the UK and USA, working collaboratively and in alignment with Group strategic objectives. This role will require some global travel mainly to the USA and UK. Additionally, past experience working and interacting with teams in these countries is essential, along with extremely strong communication skills. REPORTS TO: Chief Operations Officer (COO) JOB KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Manufacturing: Provide high-level strategic leadership and direction for production and manufacturing operations, ensuring optimal resource allocation and efficiency. Lead the onsite management team to ensure production targets, timelines, budgets, and people plans align with company and group objectives. Drive operational excellence initiatives, promoting continuous improvement and the implementation of best-in-class manufacturing practices. Monitor ROI on the recent significant investment in machining capability. Quality: Oversee the quality management framework to ensure adherence to global standards and compliance with industry regulations. Ensure that quality assurance systems are consistently applied and continuously improved by working closely with the Group Quality Manager to maintain product integrity and meet customer expectations. Ensure accountability for ensuring that the highest quality standards are met, with an emphasis on regulatory compliance and customer satisfaction. Supply Chain & Logistics: Oversee local supply chain processes, ensuring strategic alignment of procurement, inventory management, logistics, and distribution activities. Collaborate with the local supply chain team to ensure timely and cost-efficient sourcing of materials while optimizing logistics operations to meet production demands. Participate in local cost reduction initiatives. Ensure alignment with the Group Supply Chains processes to drive efficiency, reduce lead times, and maintain robust supplier relationships. Finance: Provide strategic guidance on financial planning and budget management within operations, collaborating with the Finance Manager and Group Finance Teams to ensure the efficient allocation of resources. Ensure operational activities remain aligned with financial objectives and maintain cost-effective production without compromising quality or safety. Monitor financial performance across operations and oversee the implementation of cost-saving initiatives and process optimization. Human Resources: Oversee the HR function, ensuring strategic alignment of workforce planning with operational needs. Ensure that the HR Manager maintains a high-performing, motivated workforce with a strong organizational culture and adherence to local and global compliance standards. Champion talent management strategies, ensuring that key roles are filled with skilled and competent leaders who drive operational performance. Strategic Planning: Develop and implement long-term operational strategies that support the companys overall business objectives and align with global strategies set by the parent company. Work closely with the COO and leadership teams in both India and the UK to ensure smooth integration of operations and alignment of companywide goals. Identify and evaluate operational risks and lead mitigation strategies to ensure business continuity and sustainable growth. Performance Monitoring & Reporting: Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for all operational areas to ensure the company meets its production, quality, and financial targets. Provide regular performance reports to the COO and senior leadership, including updates on key initiatives, operational challenges, and performance metrics. Drive accountability across all functions to achieve strategic objectives, optimizing operational outcomes and profitability. Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure strict adherence to legal and regulatory requirements within India, particularly in manufacturing practices, supply chain operations, and labor laws. Collaborate with the relevant department heads to ensure proper governance and compliance protocols are in place across the operations. Oversee risk management processes and ensure the company is prepared to handle operational disruptions and external risks. QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE: Education: Bachelors degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field (Masters degree or MBA preferred), or equivalent. Experience: Strong senior-level operations management experience in a manufacturing environment. Proven experience in a leadership role managing multi-functional operations. Proven track record of overseeing medium-scale production, supply chain, and compliance-driven operations, with the ability to drive strategic growth. Extensive experience in working with senior leadership teams, particularly in multinational settings, with a focus on operational alignment between global and local teams. Expertise in managing operational budgets, financial oversight, and the effective deployment of resources. Past experience working and interacting with teams in the USA and UK is mandatory. Extremely strong communication skills are necessary for effective collaboration across international teams. Skills & Competencies: Strong strategic leadership abilities with a focus on long-term operational success and alignment with global standards. Demonstrate a collaborative approach, with the ability to defer to Group Leads in areas such as Finance, HR, IT, Quality, and other functions, working effectively within a matrix management structure. In-depth understanding of manufacturing processes, supply chain management, and operational efficiency techniques. Excellent financial acumen and the ability to manage complex operational budgets and cost optimization initiatives. Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with senior leaders across regions. Ability to monitor, evaluate, and ensure compliance with local and international regulatory standards. High-level problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on achieving operational excellence and business results. TRAVEL: This role will require some global travel mainly to the USA and UK.
