Wireless Network Engineer Experience-3+Years Immediate Joiners are preferred Location-Gurgaon POSITION SUMMARY: We are seeking a skilled Wireless Engineer to design, deploy, and optimize enterprise wireless networks. The role involves performing wireless site surveys, heatmap simulations for greenfield/brownfield deployments, implementing Cisco Catalyst 9800 Wireless LAN Controllers (WLCs) and Access Points (APs), and troubleshooting wireless performance issues. The engineer will work closely with network architects, security teams, and end users to ensure high-performance and secure wireless connectivity. Key Roles & Responsibilities: 1.1.1 Wireless Network Design & Heatmap Simulation Conduct predictive wireless heatmap simulations for greenfield/brownfield sites using tools like Ekahau or Cisco Wireless Planning tools. Design RF coverage models considering signal strength (RSSI), signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), channel interference, and capacity planning. Optimize AP placement, antenna types, and power settings to ensure high performance and seamless roaming. 1.1.2 Wireless Site Surveys & Validation Perform Active, Passive, and Spectrum Analysis Surveys using Ekahau Sidekick, AirMagnet tools. Conduct pre-deployment and post-deployment surveys to validate coverage, interference, and capacity requirements. Identify RF interference sources (e.g., microwaves, Bluetooth, rogue APs) and recommend mitigation strategies. 1.1.3 Cisco Wireless Infrastructure Implementation Deploy and configure Cisco Catalyst 9800 Wireless LAN Controllers (WLCs) for enterprise networks. Implement and optimize Cisco Access Points (APs) using FlexConnect, Local Mode, or Fabric Mode in Cisco SD-Access environments. Configure RF Profiles, RRM (Radio Resource Management), CleanAir, and QoS policies for optimized wireless performance. Integrate Cisco WLC with AAA (RADIUS, TACACS), ISE (802.1X), and guest portal authentication. 1.1.4 Wireless Network Troubleshooting & Optimization Diagnose and resolve Wi-Fi performance issues, including high latency, packet loss, roaming problems, and signal degradation. Use Ekahau, Wireshark, or Cisco DNA Center Assurance for RF analysis and troubleshooting. Monitor wireless KPIs such as client connectivity, AP load balancing, spectrum utilization, and interference levels. Work with end users to resolve connectivity issues, optimize SSID configurations, and apply security best practices. 1.1.5 Documentation & Reporting Create wireless design documentation, heatmaps, and survey reports. Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs), wireless network policies, and troubleshooting guides. Maintain inventory of AP models, software versions, and RF configurations across multiple sites. Education/Experience: Bachelors or Master’s in IT, or a related field. 3+ years of experience in network engineering and wireless.
